Tonie's Math Question

The question I was given:

To solve: First, I multiplied 8.2m by 4.5m and I got 36.90 or 36.9

Then I multiplied 36.9 by 2/5. But before I multiplied both numbers, I converted 2/5 into decimals to make it easier.

After, I multiplied 36.9 by 0.4 and I got 14.76

Lastly, I found the square root of 14.76 which equals to 3.8

S.S. The side lengths of the rug is 3.8m

  1. Nice post Tonie! Your pictures were very clear, and you explained everything in a simple way. However, I think you could have maybe included more detail. Example: Your first step, you said to multiply the two given measurements (8.2m and 4.5m) I think you could have explained WHY you had to do that, just for those of us who didn't understand the question. But overall, you did a great job! Keep it up!

  2. Good job Tonie! I like how you explained your work in a way that it is very easy for people to understand. Your picture was very clear and easy to read. You could have typed your question because it wasn't that clear to read. But good job and keep it up!

  3. Good job on this post Tonie! I liked how you showed all your work and explained what you did next. I also liked how you ended off your post with a simple sentence. Though, I agree with Melanie. Explaining why you multiplied those numbers would have been better, but overall this was an excellent post!

  4. Great job Tonie. I liked how it was really organized and neat. I also liked your pictures but next time don't make them too big. Also explain your work a little more. Other than that, great job.
